Mondays

I enjoy Mondays. I heard someone say recently that for retired people, every day is Friday, but for stay at home moms, every day is Monday. For me, Mondays are a day to get back on track- I don't do well in chaos. Sometimes the weekends can throw me off, because the house gets "lived in", and we are out and about so Ezra gets off schedule. I look forward to the weekend because I enjoy having Delton home, but I also look forward to Mondays so that I can organize my life again. I am energized on Mondays- ready to dig in and get busy. If every day was Monday, that might not be too bad!

Where'd you get that title?

Because of Ezra...I decided to title my blog this way because Ezra is the reason I am home and can blog at any time of the day (provided he is happy!). Ezra is also the main reason I have something to blog about! Updates on Delton and I wouldn't attract too much attention- and the pictures of us aren't nearly as cute as those of Ezra. So- this blog is here because of Ezra.

Getting what we want from God

Ezra was crying himself to sleep today, something I have just started trying. His cries would be loud, then soft, then there would be silence. This was repeated in varying sequence. Ezra wanted to get up, and he was trying anything he could in order to get me to give him what he wanted.

I started thinking about how we act towards God at times. We know what we want, and try our own attempts at persuading God to give us what we want. Praying, fasting, worrying, devotions, holiness. God, give me what I think I need. God, the perfect Father, knows what we need. I don't believe that God is in Heaven, just waiting for us to push the right button. "Okay, Charity finally prayed enough, read the right scripture, and believed hard enough all day today...I'll release this blessing to her."

No- that is not how God operates. He knows what is best for us, and will give it to us in his time. Like Ezra, the best thing for us to do is simply rest.
